Chapel Band, Greg Armstrong, Heather DeBoer

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPEL
Tuesday: CHAPEL BAND. We were led in worship by our student-led chapel band. We honored God in song: Yes, I Will, I Will Follow, Build My Life, This We Know and Glorious Day. Thanks to Grant, Tyler, Justin and Luke!

Thursday: GREG ARMSTRONG. We are all lights in this world. We have to shine; we have to be on fire for God. Using a lantern analogy, Greg explained that each person is the wick in the lantern, and we are supposed to burn with the fire of the Holy Spirit. However, in order to do that, we must be saturated with oil, symbolizing God’s power to do his will. In order for our fire to grow stronger, we must be fueled with a constant supply of oxygen. This represents an encouraging and supportive Christian community.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Wednesday: HEATHER DEBOER. Heather works in the youth department of Christ Church of Oak Brook. She told the story of God speaking to Moses at the burning bush. She encouraged the students to be aware of God’s work in their lives. They need to be listening for God to speak to them in the ordinary.

NEXT WEEK
High School Tuesday: Prayer; Thursday: Bridge Builders
Middle School Wednesday: Kyle Bjerga
