Senior Chapel & Last Chapels of the Year

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
Tuesday: The annual Senior Chapel. All the seniors sat on the stage to watch the senior slide show made by Sarah A. Chapel concluded by having all the teachers circle around the seniors for a time of prayer. We were led in prayer by Mrs. Mirra, Mr. LeGrand, Mr. Roelofs and Mr. Mitchell. We enjoyed having many parents that came to the chapel.

Thursday: Our last chapel began with randomly calling on students and asking them what they are doing this summer. Then the theme of the chapel was purifying our perspective on what it means to follow Jesus. This was accomplished through a testimony that Mr. Wiener read and a video (see below).

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Thursday: We began by singing Build Your Kingdom and I Will Follow. Eight student teams then competed in a little quiz about what teachers are doing this summer. We then watched a video made by an 8th grader for Bible class. Check it out below! Students were challenged to seek God and serve others this summer.

Orchestra, Small Groups, Aaron Foster & Chapel Band

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
Tuesday: Mrs. Fox and the orchestra blessed us with beautiful music. Two of their pieces were Unfinished Symphony by Schubert and Blossoms of Spring. To watch the chapel, CLICK HERE

Thursday: Our last small group chapel of the year. The Scripture passage discussed in light of summer: 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17, "So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word."

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Thursday: The 6th graders joined us. We sang four songs and were led by an 8th grade worship band. They did a great job! Actually, you would be amazed at how well they sounded. Then Aaron Foster, youth pastor at Christ Church of Oak Brook and Timothy alum, spoke. He talked about transitions and how to face changes in life with strength and confidence. It depends on our foundation. Jesus is our rock. He encouraged us to seek Jesus more in our lives.

NEXT WEEK

Middle School: Summer Challenge

Troxel, Mercedes, Adams Homeroom

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
Tuesday: Pastor Craig Troxel from Bethel OPC spoke. All five of his children have gone/are going to Timothy. He explained the story from John 12 about Mary anointing Jesus' feet with expensive perfume. Because of Jesus' love and his salvation for us, like Mary, we are called to serve Jesus with extravagance and humility. To watch the chapel, CLICK HERE

Thursday: Miss Mercedes, Mr. Wiener's student teacher this semester, spoke. She will graduate from Moody next weekend. By sharing her personal testimony, she spoke of God's providence and goodness in her life despite difficult circumstances. She encouraged students to trust God. He wants to use you! To watch the chapel, CLICK HERE

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Thursday: Mrs. Adams' homeroom led chapel. They focused on the Fruit of the Spirit. We learned about the fruit through Scripture, a skit and an explanation. We then had a response time to pray and write down how God is calling us to demonstrate fruit in our lives.

NEXT WEEK
High School Tuesday: Orchestra Assembly; Thursday: Small Groups
Middle School: Ms. Strauss' homeroom
