Middle School Christmas Chapel

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Tuesday: The chapel began with the middle school/upper elementary ensemble. They sang What Child is This? and Let it Snow, featuring a solo by Kate. We then all sang O Little Town of Bethlehem, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Joy to the World. To introduce the Scripture reading we watched an Andrew Peterson video: https://youtu.be/snURV57_tjo. Mr. Lundeen read the Gospel according to Matthew’s version of the Christmas story. Check out the choir video below!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Singing and Prayer

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
Tuesday: We had a Christmas chapel with singing. Then “Linus” (Austin) from Charlie Brown’s Christmas visited us to recite Luke 2, the real meaning of Christmas.

Thursday: Timothy’s choirs sang: the Mixed Choir, Chamber Choir and Concert Chorale.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Tuesday: We had an advent prayer time. Students spread out to pray and also visited “prayer stations”: writing down prayer requests & praying for those requests, drawing/journaling and reading the Bible. The students rose to the occasion and treated the prayer time as sacred.

NEXT WEEK: Middle school Christmas singing on Wednesday

Lindloff, Smith & Small Groups

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
Tuesday: Mr. Lindloff and his family led us in an advent chapel. We pretended we were in the Lindloff living room to watch how they celebrate advent. Their table was made into a sacred space. With the lights off, the first advent candle was lit. Mr. Lindloff then told a Bible story using small wooden figures. It was a story of hope and expectation that Jesus will come again! Thursday: Small group chapel today. After answering the question ”what are you looking forward to over Christmas break (besides sleeping)?”, we read from Romans 12:9-16. Then each student was challenged to think of someone who could really use a note of encouragement. Then they wrote that person a note. It was a small, but meaningful way to live out our faith.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Tuesday: Timothy dad, Kevin Smith, was our speaker. He shared his testimony of coming to faith in Christ and shared about how he was called to ministry. One of his avenues of ministry is to share the gospel through luncheons for people of influence in the Chicago area.
