Pastor Jason Turner & MS Small Groups

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
Tuesday: Jason Turner, pastor of Faith Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elmhurst, spoke. He began by discussing our fears and the truths in Psalm 27:1, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Pastor Jason then spoke of how God has lead him to reach out to people with disabilities. He gave us a wonderful challenge to not let fear hinder us from ministering to people, especially those with great needs. Watch the whole chapel here: OCTOBER 27

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Tuesday: A different kind of chapel. Students split up into small groups based on grade and birth month. After answering "where in the world would you like to go and why?", the groups thought about Micah 6:8. Each student answered the question, "what is a specific way you can show mercy, be kind, to others?".

Micah 6:8: skit, sharing & more, and MS service project

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
Tuesday: Student skit & student sharing. With peppy music and lots of humor, the skit showed how not to live out Micah 6:8 in school. After the skit, the whole school "memorized" Micah 6:8. Chapel ended with four students (Andy, Joe, Stephanie and Ellie) sharing what Micah 6:8 meant to them. You can watch the whole chapel here: OCTOBER 13
The sound is not good for the video below, but it will give you a good idea of the skit.

Thursday: We met in our small groups with the focus on Micah 6:8. Opening questions were "What is the hardest thing you have done so far this school year?" and "If you had a day all to yourself, where would you go and what would you do?". We then read Micah 6:6-8. Students discussed how to apply "act justly, love mercy, walk humbly" to school life.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Tuesday: Service project chapel. After singing, students spread out throughout the auditorium and made cards for cancer patients. The cards will be distributed through the Phil's Friends ministry.
