Pechanio, Vander Wal & Hersey

HIGH SCHOOL CHAPELS
TUESDAY: Former TCHS Bible teacher, Matt Pechanio, shared beautiful words of hope with us. Essentially his message was "we hope not for all the specific details of life to work out in our favor, but rather true hope springs from the knowledge that the One who loves and cares for us holds our future in His hands." Mr. Pechanio is the pastor of Church of the Ascension in Elmhurst. You can visit the church's website by clicking here.
THURSDAY: Former TCHS math teacher, Oliver Hersey, also talked about hope (and this was not set up in advance!). He based his words on Romans 5:1-5. Suffering shapes us. God wants to use suffering to grow hope within us. If you were there, you will remember his final words, "push the rock!".
MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
WEDNESDAY: Former TC "lifer", Dan Vander Wal (class of '02) spoke on living for Jesus on a daily basis. God wants us to connect with him constantly throughout our day rather than just refueling when we realize our tank is empty. Dan gave wise ideas of how to be aware of God's presence during the day. He is the youth pastor at Compass Church in Naperville.
NEXT WEEK
High School–Monday: Christa Wells & Nicole Witt (professional Christian musicians). Thursday: Nick Sheetz
Middle School–Wednesday: Mr. Van Schepen's Homeroom
