MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Wednesday: MRS. DEBOER’S HOMEROOM. Topic: When Life Isn’t Going the Way You Planned. Students reflected on responses to this statement through playing Kahoot and Scripture. The main takeaway was a challenge to: 1. Talk to someone you trust, 2. Read the Bible, 3. Pray.Saturday, March 7, 2020
Student-led, Ashley Thompson, Steve Noble
HIGH SCHOOL CHAPEL
Tuesday: CHAPEL TEAM led our time together. The core of the chapel was Carson and Paul interviewing four teachers: Mrs. Lumkes, Miss Dirkse, Mr. Whartnaby and Mr. McLellan. The theme was trusting in God in hard times. Some wisdom shared: surrender your plans to God, “fall into” God’s Word and let others carry you when you can’t carry yourself.
Thursday: ASHLEY THOMPSON, a TC alum from Western Springs CRC, shared with us. She asked the question, “what does Jesus say about being weary, burdened and stressed out?”. Using Matthew 11:28-30, she highlighted what Jesus says to us: 1) come to me 2) take from me—my yoke 3) learn from me.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAPEL
Wednesday: STEVE NOBLE from Christ Church of Oak Brook spoke. He had students read the story of Jesus calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee and driving out demons from a man & sending them into pigs. Using a white board to map out the story, he made this simple and profound point: Jesus draws near to those who need his help. Carter and Myah led us in singing.
NEXT WEEK
High School Tuesday: Cassandra Ma; Thursday: Small Groups
Middle School Wednesday: DeBoer Homeroom
